SCOPE OF the Project
The scope of this pilot is limited to the:
- Emergency Departments (ED) within each participating hospital with the exception of St Vincents
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU) within St Vincent’s Hospital
- Critical Care Unit (CCU) within Bendigo Health
- High Dependency or ICU beds in Mildura, Swan Hill and Echuca
- Use of the Cerner INET application to create an electronic patient record to store all observations and test results
- Use of a ViTCCU practitioner cart at the regional bedside for video conferencing
- Use of a ViTCCU workstation in the metropolitan emergency area for video conferencing
- Virtual access for specialists to the medical monitor at the bedside
- Use of the Adult Retrieval 1300 number as co-ordination point between country and metropolitan hospitals
- Virtual access for specialists to radiology results for the patient
- Virtual access to all test results including paper records through scanning capability
- Provision of capability to print the patient record at both the regional and metro sites.
