The Swan Hill District Hospital provides acute, community, primary and age care services to a population of up to 30,000 depending upon the specific services.
The span of specialist services includes, general medicine, general surgery, sardiology, geriatric medicine, gynaecology, ophthalmic surgery, orthopaedic surgery, E.N.T., urology, pathology and radiology, renal dialysis and radiation therapy.

Our services encompass:
  • 144 beds - includes 65 in hospital, 64 in extended care and 15 in hostel beds;
  • 2006/07 we treated 16,500 ED presentations;
  • 7,436 hospital in-patients;
  • 114 extended care unit patients and
  • 34 hostel patients.
  • Our total occasions of service including community and primary care was 60,548.
  • We have 467 staff which equates to 306 equivalent full time workers.
  • Our average length of stay for hospital admissions was 2.3 days.
  • Our WIES (Weighted Inlier Equivalent Separations) was 3,878 and our total equity was $31.213m.
